Let’s walk through the general information about the Network and its functionalities.
To get started, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the glossary on the main page of Help Center, also Network Interface Settings and Account Settings.
Entity hierarchy
Publishers
A publisher is a functionality that allows a Network to manage its own inventory and/or publisher inventory.
The publisher module enables:
- To grant access to the interface to the publisher
- To create ad units and issue their codes by which publisher will deliver ads
- To create sale rules – minimum terms and conditions by which the publisher is ready to sell his inventory (from publisher interface)
Delegated inventory
In the Supply menu section, you can find the list of inventory packages delegated from other networks. The inventory of these packages can be included in products meant for your Trading Desks.
Products
A product is a functionality that allows Network Managers to create inventory packages of certain formats and transfer them for sale to advertisers.
The Network can support the following types of products:
- Direct, Package, and RON are inventory packages intended for redemption by network agencies (Trading Desks). The package can include both inventory of network publishers and inventory delegated from other networks
- An OpenRTB product may include an only inventory of Network publishers and is intended to be redeemed by OpenRTB and HeaderBidding partners of your Network
- Product for ADX is designed to transfer inventory of your network publishers to AdExchange
- Products For Network, containing the inventory of the publishers of the network and intended to transfer its traffic to other networks
Formats
The format is a Network setting that identifies which ad units and creatives their publishers and advertisers work with. The logic is as follows:
- Publisher creates ad units of certain types
- Based on the types of publisher ad unit types, the Network Manager creates formats as inventory filters used in products
- Forming the product (inventory package), the Network Manager uses the format to filter the advertising area and add it to the product
- In the marketplace, the agency selects a product and creates profiles that will inherit its settings and formats. Profiles are creative containers that correspond to formats of the selected product
Trading Desks
A Trading Desk is a type of Network access that enables management of the advertising campaigns and profiles, add creatives and buy traffic.
The agency’s functionality allows you to:
- Grant access to the interface to agencies
- Grant access to the statistical interface to advertisers
- Create advertising campaigns, profiles, add creatives
The connection of external DSP profiles (oRTB & Header Bidding) is also carried out through the functionality of agencies of a certain type.
